Target Health and Safety Skills provides a full 4 hour, DVD led cardiac first response training course.
The cardiac first response training course equips participant with the skills to recognise several life-threatening emergencies.
The practical applications include training on:

  • Relive choking in a safe and timely manner

Cardiac First Response Course Content

Our cardiac first response course provides participants with the skills to perform and execute:

  • Patient Assessments
  • Adult CPR
  • Child CPR
  • Infant CPR
  • Use of face mask and barrier devices
  • The proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
  • Placing a person in the recovery position
  • Unconscious and conscious adult choking response
  • Unconscious and conscious child choking response
  • Unconscious and conscious infant choking response
  • Airway obstruction clearing
  • Aspirin administration after a heart attack
  • Stroke response

PHECC Cardiac First Response – Community (CFR-C)

Over 10,000 people die each year from cardiovascular disease in Ireland. Approximately half of those deaths are caused by sudden cardiac arrest.

The vast majority of cardiac arrests happen outside of hospital and usually in close proximity to family member or friend.

If you learn how to perform CPR, you may be able to save a life.

This comprehensive half-day course was developed by the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) as a national standard to ensure that those who suffer cardiac arrest in the community are given the best possible chance of survival. The course is suited to those who may be required to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, choking, stroke or unconsciousness in the workplace, at a sports facility, in the home or in the community.

Course Content

  • How to perform CPR for adults, children and infants
  • Safe operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • How to and treat Chocking in adults, children and infants
  • How to recognise and treat Heart Attacks
  • Administration of Aspirin
  • Assessment for Stroke (FAST Assessment)
  • Recovery position

Training Methodology

Pre-Hospital Emergency Care approved course. All our instructors have several years of practical experience in front line emergency care and tutoring all level of learners.

Assessment/Evaluation
Skills are assessed on a continuous basis throughout the course.

Certification
A PHECC Certificate is issued to all successful participants, which is valid for two years.

Max Participants
The instructor student ratio is 1:8 to ensure you gain and retain a strong knowledge of practical skills.

Training Location: Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, 409 Stillorgan Road, Dublin A94 V6K5. On the N11 and near the M50.
We can also teach in-house at your premises if it is more suitable for you.
